A souvenir of Littlehampton
, Friday, 07 March 2008
Students from Cornfield School in Littlehampton took the week off lessons to start their own businesses.
Groups of students formed companies and got involved in a variety of business related activities including market research, product design and development and costing materials.
Chris White-Moncrieff, Operations Director at Humber VHB spent some time in the school working with the teams, "The students ideas were worthy of a dragons den entry. I would love to capture their innovation and imagination and transplant into my own business".
The week finished with companies presenting their ideas to the judges followed by an awards ceremony. The winning company, LA7, produced a set of playing cards with photos of Littlehampton taken by team members.
Rick Turney, the school's Head Teacher said "It's a wonderful opportunity for students to work together collaboratively, with people from outside the school, learning about their local environment and producing a commodity which is realistically saleable and could be adopted by the business industry".
