Teachers' visit makes it real
, Friday, 07 March 2008
Teachers from across the county visited Manhattan Furniture in Lancing to experience, first hand, how maths is used in the work place. After finding out about the company and why maths is so important to them (and sitting the maths based entrance test!), the visitors were taken on a tour of the production area where they met staff who were more than willing to explain their roles.
Information gathered will be taken back to the classroom and used to add realism to students' lessons - making learning more relevant to the business world.
If you would like to offer a visit for teachers, please contact Jacqui Scerri.
