There are 13 categories to choose from and a great first prize of £2,000 of advertising with our sponsors, Sussex Newspapers. The categories for the 2008 Awards are as follows:
Small Business of the Year – up to five employees
Sponsor - Federation of Small Businesses
This award celebrates excellence in the small businesses which make up such a high percentage of Arun’s economy.
Small Business of the Year – six to 10 employees
Sponsor - HSBC
If your business has grown recently, making you too large for the first category, then this award is for you!
Business of the Year – over 10 employees
Sponsor - Moore Stephens
Arun has world-leaders amongst its local economy, with high numbers of employees and ceaseless innovation. Thisaward celebrates these companies.
New Business of the Year
Sponsor - The Beachcroft Hotel
Start up companies form the bedrock of any local economy. Look around Arun Businesses and you’ll see a range of new, start-up businesses who are bringing fresh invigoration into the economy. This award is for them!
Business Marketing and Promotion Award

Sussex by the Sea Tourism Award

The re-introduction of an award first made in 1977! The award will be to the business or organisation which has made the most significant contribution to attracting visitors or serving visitor’s needs during the year. This may take the form of a new visitor attraction or facility; a major renovation or quality improvement; or even an outstanding promotional campaign.
Business in Education Award

Forging strong links with local education providers is the key to this category. Is your company working with local schools to improve opportunities for tomorrow’s workforce? Are you a local school who would like to say a very public thank you to a company who has given their time and skills to support your students?
