TRAVELWISE is a national campaign that aims to raise awareness of the problems caused by unnecessary car use, and the benefits of using healthier and more sustainable modes of transport.
Throughout TRAVELWISE Week (22nd-26th September) we are asking commuters, parents and pupils to do their bit to help reduce traffic congestion and pollution in West Sussex. You can take part by making one of three simple online pledges. Everyone who makes a pledge will be entered into a prize draw to win a £150 gift voucher, and the winner can spend it wherever they like (subject to availability).
Last year 147 pupils, parents and commuters made the week long pledge to use "greener" travel choices for their journeys to school and work. On average each car user saved 23kg of harmful carbon dioxide by switching to environmentally friendlier and healthier modes during the week. The results show that by being TRAVELWISE every week the average car user could save up to 1 tonne of carbon dioxide every year!To make your pledge and give yourself a chance to win £150 click here
