following exam sittings in May 2010. Rachel Pearce and Dan Hobbs recently received the news from the Chartered Institute of Taxation and look forward to putting their improved knowledge to good use. Daniel Langridge who also works for the accountancy firm is being congratulated for passing three exams and is set to take his final Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) exam later this year.
The CTA qualification is regarded as the 'gold standard' among tax professionals. Rachel and Daniel decided to specialise in Owner Managed Businesses and Individuals Taxation, while Dan focused on VAT. They all work at the Worthing office on Yeoman Way and look after a broad range of clients.
Rachel, who is just 21-years-old, can look forward to a tax adviser role and commented: “I love working with various clients and enjoy helping them to understand the tax system. I already deal with partnerships, trusts and high-net-worth individuals. I am pleased to be a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser and hope to work my way up to partner level”.
Dan has worked at Spofforths for eight years and added: “I found myself becoming more involved in tax and decided that gaining the CTA qualification was the best way to further my career. VAT is a complex tax and I am pleased to be a specialist in this area. I have chosen to specialise in VAT as it is an interesting subject and it’s a real achievement to have passed the exams”.
Peter Hussey, Spofforths Staff Partner, congratulated the students: “We encourage personal development and have supported the students throughout their studies. The CTA qualification is regarded as one of the best tax qualifications that a tax adviser can be awarded and we are extremely proud of Rachel and Dan. We are also delighted that Daniel will take the final exam this year, he is extremely determined to move his career forward with us and we will provide all of the support possible to help him do so”.
